Flu Vaccinations 2018

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS – 18th October 2018

The Department of Health has made changes to how the flu programme is delivered this year

The practice will only be able to give flu vaccinations in designated flu clinics and patients will be contacted by letter when a clinic is available for you to attend

Vaccines will be given on a ‘first come, first served’ basis

**AT PRESENT THE PRACTICE DOES NOT HAVE ANY STOCK OF THE TRIVALENT (aTIV) FLU VACCINE (For patients aged 65 & over)**

THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH HAS ISSUED PRACTICE WITH THE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE: ‘Where a practice has not been able to order aTIV, they should work closely with local pharmacies to direct patients to a locally available source of aTIV’

Whilst the practice continues to try to source further supplies of the Trivalent vaccine, patients aged 65 & over will now need to make arrangements to receive their vaccination from a local pharmacy.  The reception team will be able to direct patients to a pharmacy that has stock.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause

If you have any further queries or concerns please contact the surgery on 0191 5026470 and ask to speak to Victoria, Practice Manager, or one of the Flu Nurses
